Even though Google Plus does not have as many active followers as Facebook, it is still a social platform that has its benefits, particularly for businesses. For example, Google Plus Local is ideal for sharing photos, as it helps to feature businesses and to share their locations. Additionally, Google Plus pages are considered as regular websites on Google Search, which is ideal for a brand’s search engine ranking.
Since your Google Plus pages can be found with Google’s search results, it is good to keep your profile images, headers and posts appropriately sized for this platform.
Profile picture
Profile picture allows those you add to your circle to easily recognize or relate to your Google Plus page. Although it is best to use your own photo as your profile picture, you may use any image as long as it meets Google’s terms and conditions) For businesses, you may use your own logo. A square profile picture is required with recommended size of 250 x 250 pixels. Do note that Google uses a circular shape of 120 pixel diameter to crop your image.
Cover photo
The cover photo is the large photo banner on top of your page, making it a great place for marketing or more ways to capture your circle’s interest. It’s recommended to use a custom photo that’s 1080 pixels wide by 608 pixels tall. The largest image size you can upload is 2120 x 1192 pixels and the smallest is 480 x 270 pixels.
Shared images
For sharing images within the circles, the recommended size for an image post is 497 pixels wide by 373 pixels tall.
